    16 graduates achieved a college award from Queen Mary University of London, 26 graduates achieved a Beijing outstanding graduate’s award and 9 students are regarded by BUPT as having completed an excellent final year project. Four students received the gold award in the Product Design Group of "ASEAN International Youth Innovation Competition". Two students won the "International Youth Innovation Competition" Global Grand Prize based on the project "MICO-universal human environmental comprehensive intelligent monitoring control system”. Other innovative projects gaining BUPT Outstanding Projects Awards included a "Mobile Platform Scene Recognition Application" project and “Smart Home Environment Monitoring and Control System” project. A group of 5 students won the Beijing Grand Prize at the National College E-commerce Challenge. In academic competitions, five groups of 15 students received the Beijing first prize in National Mathematical Contest in Modelling. Four groups of 20 students received first prize in the American Mathematical Contest in Modelling. JP graduates published 24 papers which are indexed by EI, with 11 of them gaining first author paper award by BUPT in year 2012, accounting for 52.38% of the total number of awarded papers in BUPT. Compared with the other schools in BUPT, the JP has the most undergraduate students publishing papers as the first author. In addition, five patents and one copyright have been applied for.
